This past week-end, Food system star man Fieri officiated a mass wedding for 101 same-sex partners in Miami, Florida, celebrating the state’s recent lift of their ban on equal wedding. Arranged by celebrity cook (and Florida indigenous) Art Smith, the big event happened on Miami Beach and ended with a event including a seven tier dessert created by just one more celebrity cook, Duff Goldman.

But wait: is not Guy Fieri a homophobe?

Straight Back in 2011, man was reported to possess made comments that are homophobic of his show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The show’s previous producer, David web web web Page, alleged that the TV character “needed defense against homosexuals, or at advance warning that is least. ” From a whole tale within the Minneapolis City Pages:

“Guy had decided that the 2 guys operating the restaurant had been life lovers, ” Page remembers. “He stated, ‘You can’t deliver us to speak with people that are gay caution! Those individuals weird me away! ‘”

After that, show researchers had been expected to note any indications of homosexuality detected during pre-interviews. (Fieri declined to comment because of this story through their spokespeople. )
